Mission Statement
August 19, 2008
Y’all-I’m a vegan. I have a love hate relationship with Paula Deen. I will document my struggles with cognitive dissonance for anyone who wants to see. When possible, side by side nutritional values for her and my versions will be posted. I am not always the best at converting recipes, so if you have any pearls of wisdom, please share them. And yes, I take requests.

Mailing dogs is not vegan

Ooh, you could make her Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding, but use Voodoo Donuts instead? I don’t know. I feel guilty even suggesting you make this…

Perhaps you could test a quarter batch or something? I worry for your health!

I just might have to try that one. It is between that and her brunch burger http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paulas-home-cooking/the-ladys-brunch-burger-recipe/index.html
as far as donut based recipes are concerned

Oh. My. God. Paula Deen. It’s only her and Miss R. Ray that I truly avoid whenever I am watching the Food Network (though unfortunately Rachael has branched out to other networks too, *shudder*)
Is it a joke that Paula uses a pound of butter, a cup of mayo, a gallon of oil for everything?! My god woman!
Kudos to you. I am adding this to my “fav blogs” on my own blog! I can’t wait to see what you whip up!

Alysia, that LOL cat is just wrong, not as wrong as shoving your dog in a mailbox, but a close second.
Kay-Thanks for your support and interest, I will try not to disappoint.

There was nothing ladylike about that brunch – except for Paula herself. Your mission statement and photo caption are gold!
